Halloween
November 9th, 2008
As we have three students from the States in our class, there was a lot of talk about Halloween following up to the day. I’ve never celebrated Halloween and now I wish Sydney made at least half the effort as London does.
It was fun to celebrate something that requires you to dress up and carve pumpkins. We went out at night and even though I thought I was “dressed up”, I realised soon after how pathetic my attempt was. Some people had the most intense costumes. Props to my friend for doing my make up and hair though. She seriously had to work her magic to make me look half decent considering how shit I felt in the day. (I was feeling sick that week after not being able to recover properly from the weekend before. It was the 5th day I was still coughing and all I wanted was to go home to Sydney for a night.)

I want to go to America for Halloween next year!
One Month
October 27th, 2008
I can’t believe I’ve been in London for one month already. I feel like so much has happened but I haven’t got anything to show for it.
I’m really glad two of my cousins from HK came to London for a week each. They didn’t get to see each other in London but it suited me a lot better. : )
I spent my week with May doing as many free things as possible. We visited museums, art galleries and then ate good food. She was very well researched and I laughed so much that week. I really missed having her around but luckily Melanie came five days later to fill that empty gap.

Melanie is a great bargain hunter and her favourite thing is probably shopping. We went to so many shopping places and it makes you happy to see other people buy things. I haven’t got any physical room for anything and to be honest I’d rather spend my money on things other than clothes.

It was really comforting to have Melanie around because it always felt like she was taking care of me. I’ve missed that!
Uni started by the time she left and that has kept me pretty busy. I love it so far. I really do. It’s so good to feel challenged again and I can’t wait to see how my year is going to unfold. I can hardly remember the way I felt in the first week I arrived. I know it’s not definitely going to be smooth sailing from here onwards, but I’ll try stay positive. : )

I love eating Korean food with Koreans. They always know what to order. I forgot to take a photo of another dish we had of cold noodles.
